Blended Emergency First Aid At Work Course Huddersfield

We deliver onsite first aid courses in Huddersfield and the surrounding Kirklees towns, most recently for engineering and industrial employers in Huddersfield and Brighouse, covering both the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course and the full three-day First Aid at Work qualification. Our trainers for this area are based in Bradford and Wakefield and travel to your premises, so a group of six or more is usually best served by an onsite course on a date you choose.

The HSE compliant blended 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work / EFAW training course must be a minimum of 6 hours training time to learn first aid with a mixture of theory online, individual and group work, and practical sessions.

3 hours of this blended online first aid course is completed at your own pace before the classroom time. The remaining 3 hours is completed in a classroom on a specific date.

Important: 100% online first aid courses are not valid in the UK, you must still do the practical elements of a recognised first aid course in a classroom.

HSE Compliant

No prior knowledge or experience of first aid is required.

Assessment: all attendees on this course are continuously assessed by the trainer.  There is a multiple choice test and practical assessments during the day. Attendees must reach the required level of knowledge and skills to be awarded the certificate.

The course syllabus is as required under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
On successful completion this gives the learner the right to be an ‘Emergency First Aider in the Work Place’.

On completion of training successful candidates will be able to:

• Choking: Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• CPR & AED: Administer CPR, including the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
• Initial Assessment: Assess the situation and circumstances to act safely, promptly, and effectively in an emergency.
• Minor Injuries: Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries, including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns (including electrical), scalds, and splinters.
• Role of the Emergency First Aider: Understand the role of the first aider, including reference to gaining consent, preventing cross-infection, recording incidents and actions, and using available equipment.
• Shock: Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
• Unresponsive Casualty: Administer first aid to a casualty who is unresponsive, including seizures.
• Wounds & Bleeding: Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding.

This course is accepted by the SIA for the security industry door supervisor first aid course requirement from April 2021.
