Blended First Aid at Work Requalification Course Central London

First Aid For All has trained more than thirty London organisations at their own premises in the last three years: restaurants and bars, an energy company, a university academy and primary schools, day nurseries, churches, charities, scaffolding contractors and professional firms. Between 2023 and 2024 we also ran more than fifty public course dates at venues in Southwark and Westminster, with further dates in Sidcup. Emergency First Aid at Work is the most requested course, followed by Basic First Aid, First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid.

Three of our trainers live in London, in the north, south and east of the city, so an onsite course anywhere inside the M25 can be arranged quickly. Public dates in central London are not on sale at the moment. Blended Online First Aid at Work Requalification training course

This is a blended 2 day/12 hour online first aid requalification course for people who hold a current First Aid at Work qualification.

Day 1: online first aid training completed at your own pace.
Day 2: completed in a classroom. The online first aid training should be completed before the classroom day.

IMPORTANT: Learners must have a valid First Aid at Work certificate that is within 3 months before expiry or 1 month after expiry.  Learners are requalified from the same date on the certificate +3 years so no time is gained or lost by coming back early or late.

NOTE: this course now includes the Emergency Paediatric First Aid course syllabus. The certificate is valid for both qualifications.

On successful completion, the learner will be recognised as a First Aider in the Workplace and will be able to:

• Anaphylactic Shock: Administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylactic shock.
• Bites & Stings: Respond appropriately to bites and stings.
• Burns & Scalds: Administer first aid to a casualty with burns (including electrical) and scalds.
• Chest Injuries: Administer first aid to a casualty with chest injuries.
• Choking: Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• CPR & AED: Administer CPR, including using an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
• Extremes of Body Temperature: Provide appropriate first aid for extremes of body temperature.
• Foreign Objects & Eye Injuries: Respond appropriately to foreign objects in the eyes, ears and nose, and eye injuries.
• Head, Neck & Back Injuries: Respond appropriately to head, neck and back injuries.
• Initial Assessment: Assess the situation and circumstances to act safely, promptly, and effectively in an emergency.
• Major Illnesses: Recognise the presence of major illnesses and provide appropriate first aid, including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, and diabetes.
• Minor Injuries: Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries, including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns (including electrical), scalds, and splinters.
• Musculoskeletal & Spinal Injuries: Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries.
• Poisoning: Administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning.
• Role of the First Aider: Understand the role of the first aider, including gaining consent, preventing cross-infection, recording incidents and actions, and using available equipment.
• Secondary Assessment: Administer a thorough head-to-toe examination of the casualty to identify signs of injury or illness, gather relevant history, and monitor signs to inform ongoing care.
• Shock: Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
• Unresponsive Casualty: Administer first aid to a casualty who is unresponsive, including seizures.
• Wounds & Bleeding: Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding.

This first aid course is compliant with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) requirements as required under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It covers all the most common serious illnesses and injuries that can occur in the work place. The skills learnt on this course can help save lives at work, home, and at play.

This course is accepted by the HSE.The First Aid At Work (FAW) training course is also highly recommended for anyone with an interest in first aid or who find themselves caring for relatives.
