Fire Marshal & Fire Warden Training Manchester

We have been running public first aid courses across Greater Manchester since 2016. Our own training centre, Caroline House in Audenshaw, has hosted over 790 public courses, and we run regular scheduled courses at St Matthew’s Community Hall in Trafford and The Townhouse Hotel in Manchester city centre — more than 100 public dates are currently in the diary across those venues.

Because our centre is in the Manchester area, onsite training at your own premises is straightforward across the city and the surrounding boroughs: Tameside, Trafford, Salford, Stockport, Oldham and Bolton. We deliver first aid, fire safety and mental health first aid training locally, and being close by means we can usually accommodate short-notice bookings.

This is a 1 day/ 6 hour Fire Marshal inc Fire Warden training course
This is a more in-depth course than the fire warden training and it is aimed at people who are going to be managing staff in their role as a fire safety person (fire warden) in the workplace.

This course also covers the 3 hour Fire Warden course syllabus. This can be delivered in the first 3 hours of the course.  You can have some people just attend the first 3 hours to be a Fire Warden and have others stay for the full day to be a Fire Marshal.

Learners will come away with a good understanding of managing fire risks and threats and be able to apply this knowledge to their specific workplace and the fire safety staff they are managing.

• Arson: Recognise signs and risks associated with deliberate fire setting.
• Chemistry of Fire: Identify the basic science behind how fires start and spread.
• Fire Protection: Understand passive and active fire protection systems.
• Fire Risk Assessment & Emergency Plan: Identify how to conduct risk assessments and develop emergency plans.
• Fire Drills & Evacuation: Understand the importance of drills and safe evacuation procedures.
• Fire Control: Identify techniques for controlling and containing fires.
• Fire Doors: Identify the function and importance of fire doors in fire safety.
• Safety Briefings: Deliver effective fire safety briefings to staff and visitors.

• Extinguisher Practical: Attendees have the opportunity to discharge extinguishers in a controlled environment. (CO2 and a foam or water fire extingusher)

• Human Behaviour in a Fire: Identify how people typically respond during fire emergencies.
• How Fire Spreads: Identify the mechanisms and speed at which fire can spread.
• Fire Detection Systems: Identify systems used to detect fire early.
• Escape Routes: Understand the planning and maintenance of safe escape routes.
• Emergency Lighting: Identify  the role of emergency lighting in evacuation.
• Fire Alarms: Understand types of alarms and their maintenance.
• Minimising Damage: Identify strategies to reduce fire damage and protect property.
• Fire Safety Law – Required Checks: Identify about mandatory checks including alarms, equipment, and evacuation drills.
• Extinguisher Checks: Understand how to inspect and maintain fire extinguishers.
• Identifying Workplace Fire Risks & Behaviours: Recognise hazards and unsafe behaviours in the workplace.
