Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course Description |
Approved 1 day paediatric (child & baby) first aid. This is NOT a replacement for the 2 day paediatric course. NOTE: this qualification is now included with the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course. Please or contact us to discuss your requirements to make sure your are the best course for your needs (as you can do the EFAW course and receive both qualifications). 1 day Emergency Paediatric (child & baby) First Aid Course. On completion of training successful candidates will be able to: Understand the role of the Emergency Paediatric First Aider including reference to: The special needs of Infants and Children. The importance of preventing cross infection. The need for recording incidents and actions. Use of available equipment including Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) awareness. Plan for first aid emergencies. Prioritising actions. Recognise and respond appropriately to an infant who is unresponsive but breathing normally. Recognise and respond appropriately to a child who is unresponsive but breathing normally. Recognise and respond appropriately to an infant who is unresponsive but NOT breathing normally. Recognise and respond appropriately to a Child who is unresponsive but NOT breathing normally. Recognise and respond appropriately to an infant or child who is having a seizure. Recognise and respond appropriately to an infant or child who is choking. Recognise and respond appropriately to an infant or child who is bleeding. Recognise and respond appropriately to an infant or child who is in shock. Provide appropriate First Aid for minor injuries, small cuts, grazes and bruises.
