  • Outdoor First Aid (16 hour)
  • Forest School First Aid (16 hour)

Choose the certificate your governing body, employer or insurer asks for. If you are unsure which one you need, please contact us before booking.

Optional additional certificate: Paediatric First Aid can be added for an extra fee, giving you a second Ofqual regulated Level 3 qualification alongside your outdoor certificate. Select it when you book, or contact us to discuss.

Please note that the outdoor first aid training location for this course may require a drive from the classroom training location. Please contact us before booking if you will be arriving using public transport – we can usually arrange transport to the outdoor first aid training.

Outdoor First Aid for forest schools and other outdoor activities involving children and adults.

NOTE: this is a 16 hour course split over 2 days: 8 hours per day. This is a longer day than most other first aid courses.

IMPORTANT: please bring suitable clothing and footwear. Some of the first aid training is delivered outdoors (even in bad weather).

The course syllabus covers all the skills and knowledge required in the following nationally recognised qualifications:

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hour)
  • Paediatric First Aid (12 hour)
  • Outdoor and Forest School First Aid (16 hour)

Which certificate you receive depends on the accreditation you choose when booking. On our First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and Training Industry Body (TIB) accredited courses, a single certificate covers all three qualifications. On our Ofqual regulated ITC First course you choose one qualification – Outdoor First Aid or Forest School First Aid – with Paediatric First Aid available as a paid option. Please contact us if you are unsure which you need.

The training also covers the +F (forestry) first aid training requirement.

The training covers adult, child, and baby casualties.

This course meets the requirements of various national governing bodies such as British Association of Snowsport Instructors, British Canoeing/Paddle UK, British Cycling, and Lowland and Mountain Leader, among others. Please check your specific governing body and insurance requirements, and contact us to discuss if you are unsure of compliance.

On open/public courses we have identified suitable areas within walking distance, but for private courses (at your own venue) we need to discuss this in detail: not all workplaces will be in a suitable location for this course to be delivered.
