3 Day First Aid Course Details

This open/public 3 day First Aid at Work course is a nationally recognised qualification.

It is an affordable way to train small numbers of staff in the full 3 day first aid course and provide full first aid cover in your organisation.

First Aid at Work training course

This first aid at work course consists of 3 days/18 hours first aid training.
 
This first aid course is compliant with the Health & Safety Executive HSE requirements, as required under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The course covers the most common serious illnesses and injuries that can occur in the work place. The skills learnt on this course can help save lives at work, home, and at play.

Free Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification included.

On successful completion the learner will be a ‘First Aider in the Work Place’
and they will be able to:
  • Understand the role of the first aider including reference to:
  • The importance of preventing cross-infection
  • The need for recording incidents and actions
  • Use of available equipment
  • Assess the situation and circumstances to act safely, promptly, and effectively in an emergency.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unresponive (including seizure)
  • Administer CPR including using an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns (inc. electrical) and scalds, splinters.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with burns (inc. electrical & scalds)
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with head injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with chest injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with eye injuries
  • Provide appropriate first aid for extremes of body temperature
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylactic shock
  • Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)

(This course is accepted by the SIA for the security industry close protection and door supervisor first aid course requirement from April 2021  Contact us if you want to see this in writing from the SIA.)

Parking: lots of free on road parking in front of venue.
No onsite parking.

Driving: M60 J23 Ashton-under-Lyne (Snipe Retail Park).  We are 1 min from northbound exit. 3 min from southbound exit.
Bus: 219, stop is 10 meters from venue
Train: Guide Bridge station is 5-8 minutes walk

Access to building: press buzzer for First Aid For All.  Any issues, call 0161 250 16 16.

Free tea and coffee.

General store 50m away for snacks and sandwiches.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the course start time.
