Moving, Handling and Hoisting People Training Description
The course covers the theory and practice of moving, handling and hoisting of people.
Covering safe, approved techniques and identifying unsafe techniques.
Topics covered:
Identify the importance of safe moving and handling people.
Understand the hazards that can occur due to the unsafe practice of moving and handling people.
Relevant Legislation: Health and Safety at Work Act, LOLER, Manual Handling Regulations Operations (1992), PUWER, R.I.D.D.O.R
Be able to recognise the different types of moving aids and understand their testing requirements
Understand the importance of a risk assessment
Administrate safe assistance to a bed
Administrate safe assisting mobility
Administrate safe assistance to a chair
Administrate safe assistance with moving aids
