Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) & Serious Trauma +F Training

This course covers AED & CPR use with the addition of knowledge and skills to deal with serious trauma (major bleeds).  We also cover the "+F" topics so this can be used as the +F add-on for standard first aid courses.  Including basic theory and practical sessions in using:

The AED & CPR skills: Automated External Defibrillator training. This course is for workplaces that want staff to be able to respond to a not breathing casualty and make best use of an onsite AED.

AED course content:

• Role of an AED first aider
• Casualty checks, communication, and care
• Recovery position: unresponsive casualty care
• Chest compressions: CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• AED safety
• AED best practice
• Heart attack signs and symptoms

Serious Trauma/Bleeds
- Casualty checks, identifying serious bleeds, acting quickly and safely
- Tourniquets
- Improvised tourniquets and how to manage serious bleeds with limited first aid equipment
- Heamostatic dressings

+F (additional topics required for the +F qualification)
- Crush Injury
- Hypothermia
- Ticks
