Photo on First Aid certificate? If needed for your employer or for working overseas, we can take your photo while you are on the course and add it to your First Aid certificate. This is only possible on certificates/qualifications that state FAFA, IOL, or FAIB, and not Ofqual.

1 day Online & 2 Day Classroom First Aid Course Details

Blended Online First Aid at Work training course

This course consists of 1 day/6 hours online first aid training and 2 days/12hours classroom first aid training.

Important: the online first aid training can be completed at your own pace.

This first aid course is compliant with the Health & Safety Executive HSE requirements. 100% online first aid courses are not valid.

The course covers the most common serious illnesses and injuries that can occur in the work place. The skills learnt on this course can help save lives at work, home, and at play.

NOTE: this course includes the Emergency Paediatric First Aid course qualification.

The course syllabus is as required under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

On successful completion the learner will be a ‘First Aider in the Work Place’ and they will be able to:

Understand the role of the first aider including reference to:
- The necessity to gain consent
- The importance of preventing cross infection
- The need for recording incidents and actions
- Use of available equipment
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly, and effectively in an emergency
Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
Administer CPR including using an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns (inc. electrical) and scalds, splinters
Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
Administer first aid to a casualty with head injuries
Administer first aid to a casualty with burns (inc. electrical) & scalds
Administer first aid to a casualty with eye injuries
Administer first aid to a casualty with chest injuries
Administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
Administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylactic shock
Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)
Provide appropriate first aid for hypothermia and heat stroke

(This course is accepted by the SIA for the security industry close protection and door supervisor first aid course requirement from April 2021 Contact us if you want to see this in writing from the SIA.)
